My work is related to soil and groundwater contamination from landfill sites, and my background is in geology and hydrogeology.
I graduated in 1999 from UW-Madison with a dual degree in Geological Engineering and Geology and moved to New Jersey to work for a small geotechnical/environmental consulting firm. My previous summer internships prepared me for my role in doing construction quality assurance, analysis from geotechnical drilling and soils testing for new construction at residential and commercial developments.
I took a position at a Madison engineering firm in late 2000 and worked primarily in landfill design and construction. This included surface water design, stability analysis, soil testing, gas collection system design and construction documentation. During that time I developed an expertise in landfill gas systems and played the lead design role on a nationally recognized gas-to-energy system in Illinois.
For over 5 years I’ve worked in broader environmental aspects at Ayres Associates, including soil and groundwater sampling, grant writing, brownfields redevelopment and remediation, and environmental impact statement. Every day is a new challenge due to the services we provide and the variety of clients we have.
