Macalester College Geology department (in St. Paul, MN) seeks instructor for spring semester ’16

The Macalester College Geology department (in St. Paul, MN) is looking to hire someone to teach 1-2 courses in the very broad areas of economic geology, oceanography, soils, or limnology next spring (Spring 2016).

This would be a great job for a recent Ph.D. or someone who is ABD and interested in teaching, or perhaps for an advanced student looking for an extra source of funding/income. This is a full-time for the semester (2 unique courses with one lab section each). If someone was just interested in teaching one course with a lab, we are also open to that possibility. The area of specialty is fairly open within the general areas listed above. We are excited to give our students a chance to take courses in an area they seldom have the chance to explore.

The ideal candidate would have a strong interest in teaching, and preferably have experience as a TA (with good evaluations from students and/or the instructor). More information about the department can be found at www.macalester.edu/geology. Please forward any questions or formal interest in the opportunity to Kelly MacGregor, Department Chair (email: macgregor@macalester.edu).
