A320 Lab

Purpose and Policy

Room A320, Weeks Hall, is a dual-use facility consisting of computers for instructional purposes funded by the Department of Geology and Geophysics,  and a videoconferencing facility funded by the NASA Astrobiology Institute (NAI).

The computer resources in A320 Weeks are accessible to members of the following groups, in order of decreasing priority:
1) students registered in a regularly scheduled department course during the timetable hours as reserved at the beginning of the semester.
2) members of the NAI participating in a scheduled video conference (or other group activity). Because videoconferences are sometimes scheduled at short notice, on a need-basis, if there is a scheduling conflict with group (1), group (2) may request other Departmental videoconferencing facilities.
3) other non-NAI department members participating in a scheduled video conference (or other group activity).
4) graduate students in the department
The schedule for courses taught in Room A320 shall be displayed on the door.
Access to the room shall be by combination lock.
No food or drink shall be allowed in room A320.
Users shall abide by the Policy for Appropriate Use of University of Wisconsin-Madison Information Technology Resources
Users may connect laptop computers with cables to the department network after registration with the Computer Facility Managers. All other reconfigurations are to be performed by Computer Facility Managers.
