Computer Facilities Manager
Ben has worked in the department since he received
his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in
1982. He has served as the computer facilities manager for ten years.
In this capacity, he is responsible for the operations and management
of the multi-vendor computing facility which provides computer services
to the one hundred plus faculty, staff, and graduate students within
the department. He occasionally travels with geophysical field research projects assisting with deployment of data recording equipment.
He has designed several of the computer classrooms within the department including most recently renovating the L. R. Laudon lecture hall with
computer, video, multi-media, and slide projection equipment, complete
with total room touch panel control, transforming it into one most
sophisticated presentation auditoriums on the Madison campus.
