Field Trips

There will be two, one-day field trips during the conference: 

1. August 20- A full-day tour of Salmon River suture zone – from North America, across the Salmon River belt, to the Wallowa terrane.
2. August 23- A fieldtrip to the western Idaho shear zone in the glaciated, well-exposed mountains north of McCall.

Together the field trips will provide an overview of the transition from North American into an accreted terrane and show evidence for large strike-slip movement.
