Master’s Degree
Graduate School Requirements for a master’s degree
- See Museum Curator at least 2 months before defense for specimen deposit information, if applicable. (See UW Thesis Specimens worksheet)
- See the Graduate Program Manager at least 3 weeks before defense for necessary paperwork and to request master’s warrant
- Present a public, department-wide oral presentation as part of the defense of research results, and receive approval of the completed thesis from G&E Committee.
- Email a copy of your completed thesis to the Graduate School Master’s Degree Coordinator
Doctoral Degree
Graduate School Requirements for a doctoral degree
Department requirements:
- See Museum Curator at least 2 months before defense for specimen deposit information, if applicable. (See UW Thesis Specimens worksheet)
- See the Graduate Program Manager at least 3 weeks before defense for necessary paperwork and to request final oral warrant
- Present a public, department-wide oral summary of research, and receive approval of the completed thesis from PhD Examining Committee.
- After passing your oral defense, contact the Graduate School at 608-262-2433 to arrange an appointment for the final review (optional).
- Deposit your dissertation electronically.
