Research

My primary research goal is to study how the Earth became a habitable planet, from deciphering the tectonic processes contributing to the earliest continents to precisely tracking the incremental rise of oxygen in the atmosphere. I use a variety of laboratory and field tools in my work. My specialties include obtaining and applying geochronologic constraints (e.g., U-Th-Pb, Re-Os) and integrating these with other radiogenic isotope systems (e.g., Lu-Hf, Sm-Nd, Rb-Sr) to evaluate the source reservoirs of magmatic terranes as well as weathering signals recorded in sediments.
